Skiing on Mount Amiata


The Amiata reaches its maximum elevation of 1,738 meters above sea level and in winter it appears a white mountain, suggesting to be a natural home for skiing, with slopes running along the largest beech forest in Europe.

The Amiata is a very popular ski resort and offers unparalleled views.

The ski area offers 12 trails for downhill skiing for a total of about 15 kilometers, with 8 lifts that can be accessed through the ski pass.

For practitioners, the resort offers 4 tracks for cross-country skiing, 2 chair lifts and 10 ski lifts too.

Mount Amiata ski school also offers a highly qualified professional and the opportunity to rent all the equipment (skis, boots, bob, boards, helmets and Quad) without having to bring anything from home.

The place has had the peak tourism during the eighties when it vied for three consecutive years of skiing championships Women’s European Cup and still maintains a high level as regards tourism and sport.

Skiers have the opportunity to take skiing lessons both individual and in group and also to be guided along the most beautiful corners of the mountain.
